Taijiquan 太极拳
Taijiquan er verdens mest utbredte kampkunst og er kjent for sin positive virkning på kropp og sinn.
Regelmessig trening gjør kroppen spenstig, sterk og
smidig, åndedrettet blir dypere, kroppskontroll, balanse og
sirkulasjon forbedres, mens sinnet blir avbalansert, klart og
oppmerksomt. Treningen avstemmer kropp og sinn, og blir ofte kalt
'meditasjon i bevegelse'. Taiji passer for alle uavhengig av alder,
kjønn eller fysiske ferdigheter, enten man er interessert i helse og
selvutvikling eller ønsker å trene kamp og selvforsvar. Det vanlige
er å først lære 'formen', langsomme og harmoniske bevegelser som
utføres flytende og meget presist. Formen kan trenes nesten hvor som
helst, alene eller sammen med andre. Senere kan de som ønsker det gå
videre med parøvelser, selvforsvar og kamp. Dette gir øket
forståelse for bevegelsene og større effekt av treningen. I taiji
quan legges det i stedet for bruk av muskelstyrke vekt på korrekt
kroppsholdning, prinsipper fra taoistisk filosofi og på bruk av 'indre
energi', qi.

grunnleggjande teknikkar i taijiquan.
